i. Business Meetings
In order to expand sales channels for prefectural rice in Malaysia, a business meeting was held with Pan Pacific International, who are going to open 2 new DONDONDONKI stores.

Location | Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam |
Details | Fukushima, Yamanashi, and Oita paired up to raise awareness of Japan’s food and tourism industry, and held an event with the media and influencers to promote prefectural sake. There was a business meeting held a few days later. |

a. Sales Promotion through Ecommerce

Details | We held a free-shipping campaign at the“Ippin Mall”, an ecommerce store in order to expand sales channels for prefectural sake. |

a. Hosted a Webinar

Details | Due to COVID-19, a number of businesses closed, forcing people to quarantine and work from home which started around March. We held a free sake seminar with New York as the main target. The themes differed each webinar, and we invited a sake sommelier to speak about interesting, fun ways to drink sake. The goal was to promote and expand Fukushima sake. |

Details | We held a campaign in order to expand sales channels and raise awareness of “Fukushima sake”, which has won the most gold medals for 7 consecutive years at the Annual Japan Sake Awards. |
⑨UAE
a. Frozen Partially-dried Japanese persimmons Test
For the purpose of expanding sales channels for “Partially-dried Japanese persimmons”, a specialty of Fukushima, tests were performed to check the quality and inspect the products when they were thawed after being frozen.
i. Review of Prefectural Products

a. Domestic Exhibition

Details | We participated in Japan’s largest international food & beverage exhibition “FOODEX JAPAN 2021”in order to develop and expand sales channels for prefectural products. |
(2) Business Support Projects
① Financial Aid for Overseas Market Development
a. Overseas Business Meetings and other activities
Support for members who went abroad to participate in sales promotion activities as well as overseas business meetings.
Number of cases: 0 (Maximum of 75,000 yen per case)
i. Trade shows and exhibitions
Subsidies were provided to members with no track record to participate in overseas exhibitions that delt with exporting.
Number of cases:1(Maximum of 50,000 yen per case)
u. Acquisition of certification, support for compliance with laws and regulations.
Subsidies were provided to members who are working to obtain certifications and accreditations necessary to develop overseas markets and to comply with the laws and regulations of target countries and regions.
Number of cases:3(Maximum of 100,000 yen per case)
(3) Organization of Trade Promotion System
We assigned a specialist called “Overseas Market Development Manager” to coordinate with trading companies and hold business meetings in order to organize the prefecture’s trade promotion system.
(4) Strengthening overseas market development of prefectural products
We assigned temporary staff and looked at export surveys in cooperation with JETRO, holding several seminars on export strategies.
We also hired a temporary staff member who is fluent in English, in order to provide help with expanding sake, prefectural products, and more.
2 Developing Human ResourcesInformation collection and provision services
(1) Collecting and providing information on overseas economics
We provided information on exhibition events, trade systems of various countries, and prefectural products obtained by JETRO Fukushima and other economic organizations, to our members through emails and our website.
